at Virginia Tech

Best: In quarterback Josh Jackson’s short career, Jackson’s completion percentage drops each month, and this trend continues. The Irish defense, lead by Jerry Tillery, also manage to shut down Jackson’s rushing ability.

Special teams plays a huge part in the game, as with most Virginia Tech teams, but multiple Justin Yoon 40+ yard field goals help ice the game in the favor of the Irish.

Worst: This game turns out to be Josh Jackson’s coming out party on a national stage, dominating the game on the ground. Jackson also manages to connect with projected top target Sean Savoy, leading Irish defenders to not know what hit them. In addition, Bud Foster’s defense plays like we’ve come to expect, lead by lineman Ricky Walker, causing headaches in the Irish backfield.

Another close loss for the Irish. I also think a night game would tremendously help Virginia Tech.
