No. 3: Golden Tate 

This is where the players really started to separate themselves from the pack. A reasonable argument could be made that picks 7-10 could be placed in any order, and the same goes for 4-6. However, I don’t think anyone could argue for any of those players sneaking into the top 3.

Up first, another second rounder that many felt deserved a first round selection. Golden Tate was taken with the 60th pick by the Seattle Seahawks, but his career has been mainly defined with the Detroit Lions.

After four good-but-not-great years in Seattle, Tate signed a big deal with the Lions. Tate has been dominant since then. With Detroit, he has never had less than 90 receptions and he’s generally one of the league leaders in missed tackles. Tate has also gone over 1,000 yards receiving in three of the last four seasons.

Simply put, Tate is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and has been for a while. He’s one of the better players to come out of Notre Dame in recent memory.
