Game 1: 2017 Temple vs 2018 Michigan

Temple was decent last year, finishing at 7-6. They didn’t beat anyone impressive, but for the most part also beat who they should have. The 2018 Michigan team comes in as a team that could end up winning the Big 10, with an elite defensive line and now a new starting quarterback in Shea Patterson. Michigan’s ceiling is pretty high, but unfortunately due to other major programs within their conference, their floor could be 8 wins. Even with that, 2018 takes the advantage.

Game 2: 2017 Georgia vs 2018 Ball State

This isn’t close at all. Georgia ended up playing for the National Championship last season, while Ball State will probably finish the season in the basement of the MAC. There isn’t much more to discuss than that.

Game 3: 2017 @ Boston College vs 2018 Vanderbilt

This is an interesting one. Boston College finished 7-6 last year, with impressive wins over Louisville and Florida State. Vanderbilt, although talented, plays in arguably the best conference in the country. Vandy should end up with between 4-6 wins, even with a difficult schedule in their own right. Vandy plays South Carolina, Florida and Georgia. I’d go 2017, because of Boston College’s elite defense, and because the game was on the road.
