The 2018-19 Notre Dame hockey schedule was released yesterday, and it includes some tasty non-conference matchups.

Fresh off of a run to the Frozen Four just a couple of month ago, the 2018-19 Notre Dame Hockey schedule has been released.

The Irish will face the other six teams in the Big Ten Conference as normal, but the upcoming slate also features some interesting non-conference opponents. It should be a fun slate of games that challenges Notre Dame Hockey in its quest to repeat as Big Ten Champions and return to the Frozen Four.

On Oct. 12, Notre Dame will travel to Erie, PA to participate in “The Icebreaker Tournament.” They’ll play host Mercyhurst in the first round. Depending on if they win or lose, they’ll take on either Providence or Miami (Ohio) in their second game on Oct. 13.

The following weekend, Notre Dame will travel to Omaha, NE to face the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks — another program with a recent Frozen Four under its belt.

The next weekend, Notre Dame will host the defending national champion Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. Those games will take place on Oct. 26 & 27.

After hosting Northern Michigan and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in late November and early December, the last big non-conference tilt will be on New Year’s Eve.

The opponent: Boston College. That should be a fun one.

In addition to the Big Ten schedule, those home matchups with UM-Duluth and Boston College worth the price of season tickets.
