Defensive Line

Allen Page

A 1966 consensus All-American turned 1967 first round draft pick, Page is one of the best interior defensive lineman to put on a Gold helmet. (Nathan Erbach)

Chris Zorich

Zorich is an all-time favorite of Notre Dame fans. He was a part of the twenty-three game winning streak from 1988-1989, which included a National Championship. Zorich was a unanimous All-American in 1989 and 1990, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007. (Jack Leniart)

Leon Hart

A teammate of George Connor, Leon Hart is yet another Notre Dame Heisman Trophy winner. Hart was also a part of the 1946 and 1947 National Champions, along with the 1949 Championship team in which he captained.  Hart is one of only two linemen to ever win the Heisman. His1949 campaign also included a Maxwell Award. Leon Hart-led defenses at Notre Dame earned 12 shutouts. This helped Hart never lose a single game in his time in South Bend. (Sonny Martinez)

Ross Browner

Arguably the best defensive player in the history of Notre Dame football. Browner was a unanimous First-Team All-American in 1976 and 1977. He also took home the Outland and Lombardi Trophies during his career. He holds multiple Notre Dame defensive records and was taken 8th overall in the 1979 Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
