CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – NOVEMBER 24: Head coach Justin Fuente of the Virginia Tech Hokies watches a play in the third quarter during a game against the Virginia Cavaliers at Scott Stadium on November 24, 2017 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Game one features the Irish squeezing out a 27-24 victory at No. 21 Virginia Tech. Notre Dame nearly blew a 27-10 4th quarter lead, which certainly doesn’t help my confidence about this whole situation. Brandon Wimbush threw for 211 yards on 14/24 passing. Decent start, but let’s see if he can keep up a decent pace this season.

In other games around the country, Lane Kiffin’s FAU barely lost to No. 18 Miami, 28-24. Let this be a warning, Sooner fans.

As for the Top 25, No. 3, 10, 13, 15, 19, 21, 23 and 24 all lost. Things are looking a little crazy.

Notre Dame is ranked No. 22 going into their stretch of five consecutive home games — the first against Ball State. An easy 42-18 victory, Wimbush starred as he threw for 386 yards and SIX touchdown passes on 21/29 passing.

Maybe he has worked on his virtual accuracy. 2-0!

In other news, THE LANE TRAIN IS IN FULL SWING. FAU upsets No. 14 Florida, 23-20. I could only wish this game was on Fox and called by Gus Johnson. No. 6, 13 and 14 each went down this week.
