Mike Golic & Mike Golic Jr.

This father-son duo of former-Irish-football-players-turned-ESPN-personalities are the most vocal proponents of Irish athletics on the network that calls itself “the worldwide leader in sports.”

Mike Golic Sr. played as a defensive lineman and linebacker at Notre Dame from 1981 through 1984. His son, Mike Golic Jr., played on the offensive line at Notre Dame from 2008 through 2012.

Golic Sr. got his start at ESPN co-hosting what became one of the most successful radio shows in history. His son is now somewhat following in his footsteps while also branching out to grow ESPN’s audience on emerging social media platforms.

Having the Golics as mainstays on some of ESPN’s national shows gives Notre Dame fans a voice they can relate to.
