Brandon Wimbush (QB)

Overall Rank: 130

Position Rank: 17

Given his performance last season, I think this ranking is fair. Wimbush is one of the most talented quarterbacks in college football, but he struggles with consistency. It would be tough to trust him as your starting quarterback, but he would make an excellent backup in Fantasy Football.

Wimbush certainly has the potential to become your starting quarterback as the season progresses. Last season, he was tied for 24th in “total points responsible for.” In 2018, only four of the players ranked ahead of him in that category play will be playing for Power Five Teams.

Notre Dame will play some relatively bad defenses early in the year: Ball State (Week 2), Vanderbilt (Week 3), and Wake Forest (Week 4). You can feel confident starting Wimbush any of those three weeks. The Irish also have a favorable matchup against Syracuse in Week 12, which is during the Fantasy Football playoffs.
