Notre Dame Defense and Special Teams (DST)

This is straight-up disrespectful. The fact that Yahoo has three Big 12 defenses ranked ahead of Notre Dame is baffling. I understand that special teams are considered in this ranking, but Notre Dame’s defense is certainly strong enough to make them a Top-25 unit. They return nine starters in 2018 and will have playmakers at all three levels of the defense.

The Irish ranked 24th amongst Power Five teams in points per game allowed. They were also in the Top-30 in forced turnovers. It’s feasible that Notre Dame can improve in both of these statistics in 2018.

Similar to what I said about kickers, you should wait until the last two rounds of the draft to select your defense. Based on these rankings, the Notre Dame defense should be available if you want to pick them up.
