The Notre Dame football – Michigan rivalry is back in just three short days. While we could talk all day about the biggest talking points heading into the season opener, let’s take a look at the three biggest storylines for Week 1 vs Michigan.

The time has finally come. Game week is here and kickoff is just three short days away. It has been years since I — or the rest of the Notre Dame fan base — have been this excited for a season opener. College Gameday in South Bend, two of the most storied programs in college football history, the rivalry renewal,  a Top-15 match-up — what more could you ask for in a Notre Dame football opener?!

Both programs have had their share of off-season headlines over the course of the last seven months: losing talent to the 2018 NFL Draft, the arrival of Shea Patterson and the Brandon Wimbush question marks to name a few.

As kickoff draws closer, there are some huge storylines that will be on the front of everyone’s minds — ones that have been discussed, analyzed, and debated over since January.

On Saturday night, we can finally get some answers — or at least partial answers — to some of the biggest questions we’ve been tackling all off-season.

Here are the top three storylines for the Notre Dame – Michigan game.
