With more questions than expected in week three, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt look to get answers.

At this point, Notre Dame football is exactly where they wanted to be, 2-0. It might not have been the road they wanted to take, but it still reached the same destination.

Now the challenge is different. With Vanderbilt coming to South Bend, it’s hard to know what to expect for either team. Will we see the Irish that came out against Michigan or Ball State? Is this Vanderbilt team for real?

The Commodores are 2-0 and starting to receive Top 25 votes. There competition, Middle Tennessee and Nevada, should have left them at 2-0, but what’s been impressive is their dominance. Only allowing 17 points through two games, their defense could gain some confidence.

More importantly, their quarterback, Kyle Shurmur has looked good. In fact, their offense has already posted 76 points this season.

Head coach Brian Kelly has mentioned many times that they just weren’t prepared like they should have been against Ball State. Will that be the case once again? On top of that, how will the team’s confidence be after a closer than expected game with Ball State?

This is the last of three straight games at home to start off the season for the Irish. Time is also ticking to work out the kinks before some difficult opponents start to enter the schedule.

After Wake Forest next week, the Irish have two top 13 matchups between Stanford and Virginia Tech.

While Kelly is trying to improve his preparations for the game this weekend, the next two games will need to be used to prepare for the rigorous schedule coming up.

There are a lot of questions that need to be answered between both teams. This week we expect to have more answers, as we get ready with three bold predictions for Notre Dame vs. Vanderbilt.
