The Notre Dame football safety recruit is now the top player in the class, and on the verge of 5-star pedigree.

247sports.com is well regarded as the top recruiting site in the country by most recruiting nerd’s (like my self) standards, and Kyle Hamilton is now regarded as one of the top players in the country. If you follow the recruiting world, and specifically Notre Dame football recruiting, this shouldn’t come as a surprise, but it’s nice to see.

Hamilton, a student-athlete at Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia, is dominating his senior season on the gridiron playing both free safety and receiver.

After starting out as a 3-star recruit early on in the process, Hamilton started racking up the offers and showed very well at the Opening Finals over the summer. At that time, he was bumped up to a four-star athlete.

He now holds offers from most of the juggernaut programs around the country including Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State and Stanford just to name a few.

And now, he is ranked as the No. 22 player in the country, and if signing day was today would be a 5-star according to 247sports.com. He is the first 5-star Notre Dame has landed since Tommy Kraemer in 2016.

Hamilton has length (standing at 6’3), size (weighing close to 200 lbs) and speed. He is the full package as a high school recruit, and Notre Dame is getting a truly elite level athlete in the class of 2019. When the Irish come out of the tunnel at Louisville to start its 2019 season, don’t be surprised if Hamilton is a starter or in the two-deep at safety.

Stay tuned for more recruiting coverage as rankings tend to fluctuate throughout the season. Hamilton could be the first of many to see their stocks rise as the season goes on.
