Notre Dame will get all it can handle this weekend in these fives players from Stanford.

Notre Dame welcomes the Stanford Cardinal to town on Saturday evening for what could shape up to be another classic in the Catholics vs. Conifers series. The game comes stocked full with all the things fans want out of a marquee matchup: two undefeated teams, both in the AP top ten, a primetime start, and big playmaking potential on both sides.

Stanford is 4-0 on the season with wins against San Diego State, USC, UC Davis, and Oregon. Although it seemed that Oregon had the game all but won last Saturday, Stanford did what it has typically done under David Shaw: they found a way to hang around and put themselves in position to have an opportunity to win the game.

Stanford has consistently been a solid team under Shaw, and this year is no different. Although the Cardinal’s best defensive players from last year were lost to the NFL draft, there is still enough talent on this Stanford team to make it a difficult night for any opponent.

Take a look at the five players who have the potential to pose the biggest threat to Notre Dame on Saturday night.
