Notre Dame football will head to Lane Stadium for their second road test of the year to take on the Hokies of Virginia Tech in prime time.

Lane Stadium is one of the toughest atmospheres in all of college football, an atmosphere even more daunting when the sun goes down. Notre Dame football will learn that on Saturday night.

This game looked like it was going to be a top-ten matchup a mere few weeks ago before Virginia Tech’s devastating loss to Old Dominion. However, the Hokies bounced back this past week when they handily took down the then-ranked Duke Blue Devils. That win propelled Virginia Tech back into the AP top 25. This will be Notre Dame’s 3rd top 25 matchup in the first 6 games of the season.

Although this game seems to have had even bigger implications before Virginia Tech’s loss to Old Dominion, it will still be a battle from start to finish. Here are the Hokies who could be a handful for the Irish come Saturday in Blacksburg.
