Notre Dame football is No. 5 and returns home this weekend to take on the 3-3 Pitt Panthers.

With both teams coming off big wins, Notre Dame football and Pitt each have momentum in their favor.

Coming off a blowout win against Virginia Tech, the Irish offense once again showed how explosive they can be with the undisputed, unquestioned starting quarterback Ian Book under center.

On the other hand, the Pitt defense had its third-straight poor showing. Pitt has given up 37 or more points in three straight and in four of six games overall.

This could be easy pickings for the Irish offense, but there are battles that need to be won. The victory in these battles could go a long way in determining success (or failure.)
