Did the Irish squeak by Northwestern, or did they answer a few questions that we had? Either way, Notre Dame football is 9-0 heading into Senior Day.

Florida State comes into this game 4-5 and has underperformed all season. But, it’s November and anything can happen – especially with the way this one is set up for Notre Dame football.

The Irish are returning home for the last time this season. As many of us are well aware, Senior Day is about as unpredictable as a freshman starting in game one. There are a lot of emotions. Will Notre Dame’s seniors be level-headed knowing what’s at stake this season? Will they be able to channel their emotions the right way?

We won’t know until Saturday night.

Home field advantage is also an odd aspect in this game. It’s expected to be freezing temperatures with the possibility of snow. Basically, it’s November in South Bend.

The reality is, no one likes to play when it’s that cold. Notre Dame might be more accustomed to it, but it doesn’t mean that they won’t suffer because of it.

It could also go either way for Florida State. They have been down. It’s been a horrible season and coming to South Bend in these conditions may have them folding before they even arrive at the stadium.

At the same time, they have nothing to lose. A bowl game might not be out of the question, but you have to wonder what the Seminoles are playing for.

Every team gives their best effort versus Notre Dame. It’s the biggest game of the season for most teams. For Florida State, beating Notre Dame might be enough to salvage their season.

Notre Dame showed that they were beatable last week if they make enough mistakes. It’s hard to play a clean game in these conditions, but the path to the College Football Playoff has been paved.

Here are three bold predictions for Notre Dame versus Florida State.
