Notre Dame’s offense plays flawlessly

Syracuse’s 53-23 rout of Louisville was fueled off of turn over after turn over — four of them to be exact. Three of those turnovers resulted in points for Syracuse.

Notre Dame really hasn’t had trouble in that department this season. The one exception you could make is that the Irish have ten interceptions. Six of those are from Wimbush in the four games he has played this season. With Ian Book expected to play, Notre Dame brings back the most efficient quarterback in the nation.

The Irish have only lost the ball via fumble three times this season as well.

Notre Dame is a much cleaner team than what Syracuse has been exposed to here recently. On the other hand, the Orange defense has set up the offense with some good field position all year.

The issue Syracuse will run into is how fundamentally sound of a team Notre Dame is on offense.

The running backs Dexter Williams, Tony Jones Jr. and Jafar Armstrong haven’t fumbled the ball once this season.

Book has become as efficient as he has been because of his ability to place the ball only where his receiver can reach it. He didn’t throw an interception until Virginia Tech and the majority of his interceptions were from him just trying a little too hard to force something to happen.

At this point, Book has every to be confident and trust himself. There shouldn’t be an issue with him getting settled into this game and playing flawlessly.

Syracuse will have to find a different way besides turnovers to win this one.
