Notre Dame will get many second chances

It’s hard to forgive some mistakes. Even in a 36-3 rout of Syracuse, many still focused on the red zone issues Notre Dame had. But, it was okay because Notre Dame was giving second chances.

This week will be more of the same. USC will give Notre Dame all the chances they need to right their wrongs.

Many times this season, it’s been Notre Dame’s defense stepping up, saving the day, or just showing off. Not only did the defense almost shut out Syracuse’s high-scoring offense, but they made it look easy, also.

For USC, a lot of their struggles this season have come from having some young players. Unforced errors have killed momentum in a lot of their games. From penalties to turnovers, there have been problems all around. The Trojans have had 17 turnovers in their first 11 games including ten interceptions.

When you look at not only how talented Notre Dame’s unit is and how well they are playing, it should be a long night for the Trojan offense.

The Irish have racked up 18 turnovers this season and are coming off of a season-best three interception performance against Syracuse.

It’s not a surprise that USC has had critical issues in games that ended up giving other opponents second chances. The Trojans have been searching for answers. Clay Helton is trying to save his job, their offensive line coach already lost his job, and the offensive coordinator lost his play-calling duties.

Their backs are against the wall as they search for answers and will be desperate vs. Notre Dame.
