Notre Dame held its College Football Playoff media day earlier this week.

I was given the opportunity to attend the Notre Dame media day leading up to the CFP Semifinal matchup vs. Clemson. Here are my takeaways from talking to both the players and coaches.

Electric Confidence

As I began to question various Notre Dame players and coaches throughout Saturday’s media day, one question yielded me nearly the same answer word for word — “We are not afraid of Clemson”.

The media may portray the Irish as major underdogs and no one seems to truly be giving Notre Dame a shot, but the Notre Dame camp’s confidence can not be understated.

Of course, the players aren’t going to come out and say “Oh yeah, these guys are going to run us into the ground”, but I’ve had plenty of experience talking to these guys and their confidence and swagger heading into this game is electrifying.

When I asked Dexter Williams and Te’von Coney if they pay any attention to the “noise” surrounding them — again — their answers were nearly the same. “We don’t care what anyone has to say, we know what we are and what we can do”, said Coney.
