Defensive Tackle

This position group is much easier to differentiate, as recruiting along the interior of the defensive line has been outstanding over the last few cycles. It’s possible the Irish only take one defensive tackle, and preferably a nose-tackle prospect in 2020. And with that said, they’ve only offered five interior lineman, further proving just how picky they might be. The three names to know are Cole Brevard (Indiana), Jordan Butler (Nevada – IMG Academy) and Aiden Keanaaina (Colorado).

If the staff can land two of these three, it is possible they accept multiple commitments, but for now the focus seems to be on Keanaaina as the top overall target. Keanaaina attends one of the top Catholic High Schools in the Denver area and has on numerous occasions mentioned Notre Dame as his leader. This seems more a matter of when, not if. Locking down defensive tackle early on for 2020 recruiting would give the staff much relief.
