7. Duke

Over the past couple of seasons, Duke has been extremely underrated. This, perhaps, has to do with their reputation as a basketball school. It may also be due to their historical ineptitude at football. The NFL prospect, Daniel Jones, won’t be under center next season for the Blue Devils. However, Duke is very well coached. David Cutcliffe is a quarterback whisperer in his own right, having coached both Manning brothers while they were in school. So, talent aside, whoever replaces Jones will be well equipped mentally. Duke doesn’t have overwhelming talent, but they can give anyone on their schedule a good scare.

6. Virginia

Going into the 2018 season, most people felt Virginia would be the joke of the ACC. That wasn’t the case, however. The Cavaliers had their faults, but still were able to compete for an ACC Coastal Division crown. At 8-5 and with an emphatic win in the Belk Bowl over South Carolina, Virginia has announced their arrival. Bryce Perkins will be back and should have the Virginia offense firing on all cylinders. Perkins is an excellent dual threat quarterback, who will put pressure on every defense they play. On top of that, last season their defense ranked 20th. The Virginia Cavaliers are a serious threat.
