The Notre Dame women’s basketball team will hit the road on Wednesday evening as they travel to Boston College.

On Sunday afternoon, the Notre Dame women’s basketball team played host to Florida State. The Irish beat the Seminoles by a score of 97-70. The Irish now hit the road once again to play Boston College. BC comes into the game on a three game losing streak. In the first game between these two teams at the end of January, the Irish took down the Eagles.

The Irish

Sunday was a much-needed bounce back game for the Irish. After falling to Miami on Thursday night, Notre Dame beat Florida State by 27 points. Jessica Shepard and Arike Ogunbowale both stepped up big with 25 plus points for both of them. The Irish also improved on their shooting over their performance against Miami. In the loss, they shot just 37.9 percent from the field but against Florida State on Sunday, they improved to just over 52 percent. This really helped them turn away the Seminoles.

Against Boston College in the first go-round, the Irish scored 42 points in the paint. They allowed just 28 points in the paint from Boston College. This is going to be an important area of the game for the Irish. Jessica Shepard has been playing well for the Irish as of late, but the Irish need Brianna Turner to step up. She has played well defensively against Florida State, but Notre Dame needs her to step up offensively. It is key that they get scoring from all five starters.

Boston College

Boston College comes into Wednesday’s matchup at 14-10. They are 3-8 in conference play and have lost four of their last five. At home this season, they are 8-6. One player to keep an eye out for is Emma Guy. She is currently averaging a team high 14.0 points per game on 60.0 percent shooting. Guy also leads Boston College in rebounds per game with 7.1.
