Predictions:

Mason’s Prediction: As I stated in the beginning of this article, the linebacker positions have some question marks heading into this fall. Notre Dame does not have a Jaylon Smith or a Te’von Coney to rely on or fall back on this season. There are a lot of young, mostly unproven guys that will need to make an impact quickly next season. When it comes to the starters, I have Jonathan Jones at the Mike, Asmar Bilal at the Buck and Shayne Simon at the rover Week 1. I fully expect to see guys like Bo Bauer, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Jordan Genmark-Heath earn plenty of playing time this season but when it comes to starters, those are my guys.

Nathan’s Prediction: The Irish find similar production at linebacker in 2019, but not from any one or two players in-particular. A rotation is expected and possibly even a heavy one. With that said, a few breakout players could a go long way for the future at the position. I have my eye on Jones, Simon and Lamb to take that next step.
