The Notre Dame women’s basketball team will hit the road on Monday evening as they travel to North Carolina State for Big Monday.

On Wednesday night, the Notre Dame women’s basketball team played traveled to Boston College. The Irish beat the Eagles by a score of 97-47. Now, the Irish hit the road once again to play North Carolina State in the Play4Kay game. The Wolfpack comes into the game having beaten Syracuse after falling in two straight.

The Irish

Wednesday night was a good night for the Irish. All five players got into double figures and they even managed to get double digit points from the bench. They also played well defensively, allowing just 47 points and just 30.5 percent shooting from the field. They did have a high number of turnovers once again at 18, though, so that will be an area of emphasis for Muffet McGraw and the Irish.

While the Irish were off on Sunday, they did get a major boost from the Miami Hurricanes who went on the road to Louisville and pulled off the upset over the Cardinals. That now means the Irish, Hurricanes, and Cardinals are now all tied at the top of the ACC standings at 10-2. If the Irish could pull off a big win at NC State on Monday night, they would put themselves in a really good spot to gain at least a share of the ACC title.

North Carolina State

North Carolina State started off the season really strong, winning their first 21 games before losing to North Carolina on February 3. Now, North Carolina state comes into Monday’s matchup at 22-2. They are 9-2 in conference play and have won three of their last five. At home this season, they are 13-1. One player to keep an eye out for is Kiara Leslie. She is currently averaging a team high 15.8 points per game on 42 percent shooting. Leslie also leads North Carolina State in rebounds per game with 7.7.
