The Notre Dame women’s basketball team got its 13th win in ACC play on Monday night, taking down Syracuse, 98-68.

The Irish hit the road on Monday night looking to close out their regular season road slate with a victory. Notre Dame went into a tough road environment in the Carrier Dome and took down the Orange, 98-68. Arike Ogunbowale led all scorers with 24 points. Brianna Turner added 22 points of her own to lead the Irish to victory

Another day, another double-double

The Irish played seven games in the month of February. Four of those were on the road and just one of those was a loss. But in five of those seven games, Jessica Shepard recorded a double-double. The 6’4” forward from Nebraska has been on an absolute tear as of late. She isn’t just getting into double figures for points, but she is also killing it on the glass. On Monday night against Syracuse, she had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Then there is the skill that she is less known for. Sure she doesn’t get into double figures for her assists, but her passing ability combined with her rebounding prowess makes her one of the most lethal players on the outlet. She was able to add five assists to her double-double on Monday night.

Have a day, Jackie Young

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I am very high on Jackie Young. Today is just another example of why. The junior guard from Princeton, Indiana flirted with her second triple-double of the season, falling just two rebounds short. But after the game, head coach Muffet McGraw said that she felt Young could play even better. That’s after she recorded a career high 12 assists. She had to take over the point guard duties early on in the game because of the pressure Syracuse was applying with their full court defense. She also added 10 points to help the Irish win big on the road.
