Offensive MVP: Arike Ogunbowale

When you look at Notre Dame’s offense, it’s hard to pick just one player who stands out as the MVP. You have Jessica Shepard, who is one of the most dangerous post players in the country. Then there is Marina Mabrey, who is incredibly dangerous from beyond the arc and has ridiculous range. You could also go with Jackie Young, who put up two triple-doubles this season and was close to a third. But for me, offensive MVP has to go to Arike Ogunbowale, and here is why.

This season, Arike Ogunbowale became the all-time leading scorer in program history, passing Skylar Diggins-Smith. Ogunbowale averaged 21.4 points per game this season — five points better than anyone else on the team. But the part that makes Ogunbowale so dangerous offensively is her ability to create for herself. She can drive better than almost anyone out there, but she can also pull up from just about anywhere as well. The offense of the Irish runs through Ogunbowale and how far they go in the postseason will be based on her ability to produce.
