Best individual performance: Arike Ogunbowale against Louisville

When the Irish took on Louisville in January, we knew it was going to be a good game. The top two teams in the ACC and two of the best teams in the country this year, but it also provides a matchup between two of the top athletes in the country in Asia Durr and Arike Ogunbowale. At the end of the first half, Durr had turned in a nice performance to give her team the lead. The third quarter is when Ogunbowale got going though, and that’s what we are really here to talk about. Her buzzer-beating three at the end of the third sparked her team and capped a quarter where she had seven points and three assists.

Then the fourth quarter happened and Ogunbowale took over. With three minutes left to play, she put the team on her back and made sure the Irish would come away victorious. She would score 14 of the final 16 points for the Irish to finish with 30 points on the evening. Ogunbowale would add six assists, five rebounds, and two steals for a complete performance. If the Irish would have lost this game, their ACC hopes would have totally been dashed. But Ogunbowale assured that would not happen and that is why this is the best individual performance of the season for the Irish.
