Trevor Ruhland

Ruhland saw action last season, but fortunately never had to step in and play center full time. That said, Sam Mustipher is gone and experience at that pivot position on the offensive line will be key. The ideal situation — given his experience and time in the system — is for Ruhland to step in and claim the center job early in the Spring and hold onto it throughout Fall camp. Miscommunication between center and quarterback and center and the rest of the offensive line is not something this Notre Dame team needs to be dealing with in the days and weeks leading up to a season that includes games against Georgia, Southern Cal and Michigan all before Halloween.
