Predictions and Expectations for 2019

Nathan: It is hard to imagine the kicking game being as stable as it has been the past few seasons. Yoon and Newsome were very talented college special teams players with multiple years of experience. With that said, it is a must they find some consistency from the new guys in 2019 if the team wants to compete at a high level. Early on, it should be Doerer and Bramblett, but don’t expect the walk-ons to go out without a fight.

Mason: Justin Yoon and Tyler Newsome were two of the best Notre Dame has seen at their positions. Their production will be difficult to replace. There should be more concern about the kicking — specifically the place-kicking position — rather than the punting position. Bramblett is a great recruit who will be a star at Notre Dame, while both Doerer and Leonard are more of question marks. Notre Dame is in a great spot with top-notch guys at both spots, but no one should expect them to immediately produce at an All-American level. Keep your expectations reasonable.
