5 Potential Trap Games for Notre Dame in 2019

3. Virginia

Virginia came into 2018 with very low expectations. However, at 8-5 with a bowl win, the Cavaliers easily surpassed those expectations. There’s no reason to think Virginia won’t be even better in 2019, so it shouldn’t be a game that Notre Dame overlooks. That said, the Irish play Georgia the week before. With a win, Notre Dame could easily be too confident against Virginia. They could easily overlook Virginia based on reputation. That would set the stage for a letdown. If the Irish lose to Georgia, however, I’d expect Notre Dame to punish Virginia as a statement to the subsequent doubters and voters.
