With Spring practice in the rear view, Notre Dame football has potentially answered some huge questions heading into the the 2019 football season.

The Notre Dame football depth chart is starting to take shape. The spring brought many surprises, both good and bad, and in doing so, has helped shaped the dynamic of the roster as summer and fall near.

At linebacker, Drue Tranquill and Tevon Coney aren’t walking through that door; therefore, this was a huge spring for the young linebacking core.

At corner, Julian Love–quite possibly the most prolific corner in Notre Dame’s recent memory–is gone to the NFL, so boundary corner will be filled by someone new.

The offensive line loses “two” multi-year fixtures but returns essentially four starters. How have they improved? The backup defensive ends keep improving, and on most rosters would likely be starters.

The young receivers have been reliable and dynamic, and should give Coach Long an plethora of options in the fall.

The Irish are coming off a season that saw them fall just short of their ultimate goal of a National Championship. The Irish will look to re-load a lineup that lost a boatload of talent to the NFL and graduation.

Spring ball should have provided the coaching staff some more clarity on many of these dire questions and team needs. The Irish have questions heading into 2019, but fortunately, it seems that the coaching staff is beginning to find the answers now that spring practice has reached its conclusion.
