ARLINGTON, TEXAS – DECEMBER 29: Ian Book #12 of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish speaks to his line in the first half against the Clemson Tigers during the College Football Playoff Semifinal Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic at AT&T Stadium on December 29, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. Jarrett Patterson/Tommy Kraemer: Patterson fills the void vacated by 3-year starter Sam Mustipher at center, and if spring is any indication, he will be a force along the offensive line for many years to come. The staff absolutely loves his size and technique, and looked like a seasoned veteran instead of a player that was learning center for the first time. Kraemer, on the other hand, hasn’t been the player many Irish fans were hoping for when he signed on a five-star offensive tackle prospect in 2016. However, he now enters his third season as starter and second at right guard. If spring reports are any indication, his feet have improved and he is more comfortable than ever. I am expecting a much improved Tommy Kraemer this fall.
