With Miles Boykin still on the board, the Baltimore Ravens traded up with the New York Jets to snag the Notre Dame football standout with the 93rd pick.

Miles Boykin became the second Notre Dame football alumnus off the board in the NFL Draft when the Baltimore Ravens took him 93rd overall. He joins Jerry Tillery in the NFL, as Tillery was selected 28th overall by the Los Angeles Chargers.

Boykin’s fit with the Ravens is obvious.

After an under-the-radar first two seasons in South Bend, Boykin began to step into the spotlight during his third season under Brian Kelly. He then emerged as Notre Dame’s go-to wide receiver last season and lead Notre Dame in every receiving statistical category. In 2019, he totaled 59 receptions for 872 yards and 8 scores.

Boykin joins fellow Notre Dame alumnus Ronnie Stanley in Baltimore.

The Ravens are a great fit for Boykin, as the former Irish receiver will be able to use his size, physicality, and tremendous catch radius to be a weapon in the re-tooled Ravens offense. Boykin stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 220 pounds. That size will allow him to be a tremendous asset blocking in Baltimore’s running game, as well as a big-play threat in the middle of the defense as well.

Earlier in the night, the Ravens added Marquise Brown, who is a different type of receiver than Boykin. In contrast to Boykin, Brown stands at 5-foot-9 and 166 pounds. He is more of a stretch-the-defense type of receiver, which is exactly the type of complement Boykin needs to find room over the middle.

Together, Boykin and Brown will be a tremendous complementary due for Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Boykin’s teammates Julian Love, Drue Tranquil, and Te’Von Coney likely aren’t far behind when it comes to joining NFL rosters. Most expect all three to be taken on the final day of the NFL Draft, while the jury is still out on Dexter Williams, Alex Bars, and Justin Yoon as draft picks.
