Prior to this spring, tight end Brock Wright had been a little bit of a disappointment for Irish fans. Out of high school, Wright was a 4-star prospect and one of the top tight end in the nation. In his time in South Bend, however, Wright has been used more as a fullback in goal line situations than he has in typical tight end roles.

That could change in 2019.

By all accounts, Wright has improved athletically and as a receiver ahead of the 2019 season and it is reasonable to say that he will hold the second tight end spot behind Cole Kmet. With Kmet and other Notre Dame receivers getting a lot of attention, it wouldn’t surprise me if Wright could have a surprising season for Notre Dame.

At 6-foot-5, Wright might end up being a lethal redzone target.
