It would almost be ridiculous to start anywhere but the most important position in the game of football.

While Ian Book still would have a year of eligibility left, it seems pretty doubtful that he would stay in South Bend past next season. He will have his degree in hand and two years as a college starter under his belt.

Book isn’t your prototypical NFL quarterback, but with Kyler Murray being this year’s overall number one selection, who even knows if that matters anymore? I’ll say this: If Ian Book improves on his numbers from a season ago and is able to prove that he can throw the ball down the field, he will be a top quarterback prospect.

Clearly, Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert will be the two names everyone talks about, but Book may not find himself too far behind. I’d look for Book to go to a team like the Bengals, Saints, Chargers, or another quarterback-needy team looking for the future of the franchise.

In short, if Daniel Jones can wow a team enough to go 6th overall, Ian Book can do that, as well.
