Julian Okwara could have been a fairly high pick in this year’s draft, had he elected to come out, and undoubtedly will help his draft stock with another year at Notre Dame, provided he remains healthy. Last season, he tallied 6.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss, and with the way Notre Dame is going to try to play defense this year, it’s very reasonable that both those numbers will go up.

The Irish have a good defense and the strength is on the edges. Okwara will have a lot of opportunity to show what he’s all about this season.

The way that football has transformed into a passing league in recent memory, teams can never have enough guys who can get to the quarterback.
