As long as Muffet and Geno are going head-to-head, I don’t think this matchup will ever get boring. Two of the most decorated and successful women’s college basketball programs met again in the 2018 Final Four, with Notre Dame coming in as a 1-seed and UCONN a 2-seed.

After going back and forth in the first half, the two heavyweights traded blows in the the third quarter, entering the 4th quarter with a 54-52 Husky lead.

UCONN started the final frame hot, taking a 64-55 with 7:52 left in the game before the Irish went on a 13-2 run. Then, with less than a minute left, Brianna Turner iced the game with her 371st career block with 11 seconds left as the Irish stamped their ticket to the National Championship for the second straight year with an 81-76 victory.

The win was No. 999 in program history and featured 26 lead changes and nine ties. The victory also continued Muffet McGraw’s success against Geno and the Huskies, moving the all-time Irish record vs UCONN to 5-1 in the National Semifinal round.
