Already having a knack for late-game heroics and raising people’s blood pressure, Notre Dame hockey did nothing to change that reputation with their 2018 NCAA Northeast Regional Semifinal matchup vs #2 seeded Clarkson.

The Irish trailed for most of the game, and down 2-1 with 2:20 to go in regulation, Bobby Nardella netted the equalizer to send the game to overtime tied 2-2.

At the 15:53 mark in the first overtime period, Cam Morrison buried the game-winning shot (for the second straight game) to propel the Irish to the Northeast Regional Final for the third consecutive season.

Similar to basketball, hockey always seems more intense and fun to watch in the playoffs, or in this case the NCAA tournament. The thrill of post-season hockey with the season hanging in the balance of the next goal is hard to describe, but man is it fun to watch.
