Notre Dame fans got their first look at USC’s quarterback in the regular season finale last year.

Daniels, a true freshman, won the starting job before the season began. He had his fair share of ups and downs throughout the year, but he showed promise.

Heading into their final game, USC had a record of 5-6 and they were a 14 point underdog to Notre Dame.

In that game, Daniels completed 37 passes for 349 yards and a touchdown. He did not turn the ball over and was only sacked twice.

In the end, the Trojans lost by a final score of 24-17. Daniels did enough in that game and the rest of his first season to make some Irish fans a bit more concerned about future matchups.

Daniels played 11 games in 2018 and finished the year with 2,672 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

The top four receivers for the Trojans will all return next season. If the USC offense can compliment their passing attack with a decent run game, Daniels should eclipse 3,000 yards passing in 2019.
