College football is right around the corner. Here is how you could celebrate with an opening weekend road trip, ending with Notre Dame football at Louisville.

If you’re a Notre Dame football fan–or even just a football fan, in general–and you’re looking to celebrate the opening weekend of college football by seeing as many games as possible, this post is for you.

The opening weekend of college football is perfect for copious amounts of college football consumption. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, the time is not far off when your biggest challenge will be catching all the big plays and the passion of pageantry of college football. May your remote batteries never fail you.

If you’re the type of person who likes to watch college football in person, though, you might consider making arrangements to visit these games this opening week:

First, you could start your college football roadtrip extravaganza on Thursday, August 29th, by visiting the University of Cincinnati to see the Bearcats, coming off an 11-2 season, host the UCLA Bruins, who should be interesting enough in the second year under Chip Kelly. By the way, you can get tickets for this game for about $54.

Now, this is where you have to decide whether or not you want to go big or go home. If “going big” is what you’re in to, then this is where things get fun.

After seeing UCLA and Cincinnati, you can travel a little over 300 miles north up Interstate 75 to East Lansing to see the Michigan State Spartans host the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Friday, August 30th. Tickets for this game, if you buy today, will only cost you about $19.

Then, it’s back to Ohio. This time, you’d stay in the Big Ten Conference, though. From East Lansing, you could travel 254 miles back into the heart of Ohio to see the Ohio State Buckeyes host Lane Kiffin and the Florida Atlantic Owls on Saturday, August 31st. You might want to act now, though, because the cheapest ticket available on StubHub is $102.

After seeing the Buckeyes battle the Owls, you get a day of rest on Sunday, but you could head to a really fun city in Louisville, which is about a 200 mile drive from Columbus. Maybe you visit Churchhill Downs. Maybe you just rest. At any rate, the main even comes Monday night.

On Monday, September 2nd, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish visit the Louisville Cardinals in what figures to be an electric atmosphere. The Irish are looking to reload following their successful 2018-2019 season and the Cardinals are hoping that this game is a fast start of a new era in the program. Tickets for this game are running at about $100 on StubHub.

Have the Irish ever had a better crop of defensive ends?. dark. Next

If you’ve been keeping track, that’s 4 games in 5 days. An individual can do it for $275 in tickets, plus travel expenses and lodging. That’s not too bad if you’re a die-hard college football fan.
