Notre Dame goes between the hedges for the first time ever. The Irish will also look to beat Georgia for the first time ever. The last time the two schools met in South Bend in 2017, Notre Dame lost a heartbreaker, 20-19. Georgia also beat Notre Dame in the 1981 Sugar Bowl. That would be Georgia’s last national championship. It’s debatable if Georgia should be the favorite, but it isn’t debatable that the atmosphere will be great, and worth attending. There will be the Dawg Walk, for fans to see the team. The Georgia fans will also be “calling the dawgs,” and listening to the lone trumpeter.

Mix in a SEC crowd, and a tailgate with one of the top college towns in the country, and it’s definitely a game worth getting to. Stop by D.P. Dough for pizza and wings, or maybe Mama’s Boy for your pre-game breakfast. Add a few great bars to go to once the game is over like Manhattan and Trappeze, and you’ve got a great town to watch the game in.

Say what you will about the SEC, but they do care. The fans love the Bulldogs. They’re passionate, and they’ll make a lot of noise. There’s also a great chance that College Gameday will be this game. That means it will be an all-day affair, leading to a prime time game. It should be a loud party, even if you’re pulling for Notre Dame and not the Dawgs.
