Here is the first name that negatively benefited from such a deep class of elite players at his position. This year’s corner and defensive backs class was insanely loaded, which unfortunately pushed Love later into the draft than what many expected.

After initially receiving a second round grade and having a relatively smooth combine and pro day performance, Julian Love slipped all the way to the Giants with the sixth pick in the fourth round.

It was a steal by the G-Men and considered one of the better value picks of the draft, considering Love’s versatility and ability to play on the outside, in the slot, or even safety.

Love joins a defensive backfield in the Big Apple that has seen a massive overhaul this off-season, bringing in two new safeties and drafting three cornerbacks, including Georgia’s Deandre Baker in the first round.

While Baker and veteran corner Janoris Jenkins seem to be the favorite to take the reigns on the outside, there is plenty of opportunity for Love to not only fight for playing time on the outside, but to see the field in the slot or use his versatility and range to play safety on the backend.

Regardless, Love is a day two talent that should find his way on the field and help make plays for this new-look New York Giants secondary in 2019.
