Tight End

Currently on roster: Cole Kmet (4 star), Brock Wright (4 star), George Takacs (4 star), Tommy Tremble (3 star).

Current commits: Michael Mayer (4 star), Kevin Bauman (4 star).

Notre Dame has had no issues recruiting the tight end position, and that remains even though production has dropped under Brian Kelly. Ideally the staff would like to add 1 tight end every cycle, but it has become a habit to add 2 every other year over the last several seasons. Mayer and Bauman continue a tremendous run of 4 star and athletic tight ends with loads of potential. I’m of the opinion that you should never turn away talent, and Mayer and Bauman, along with the four current tight ends all fit that mold of player.

Offensive Line

Currently on roster: Liam Eichenberg (4 star), Aaron Banks (4 star), Jarrett Patterson (4 star), Tommy Kraemer (5 star), Robert Hainsey (4 star), Josh Lugg (4 star), Trevor Ruhland (3 star), Dillan Gibbons (3 star), John Dirksen (3 star), Cole Mabry (3 star), Zeke Correll (4 star), Quinn Carroll (4 star), Andrew Kristofic (4 star), John Olmstead (4 star).

Current commits: Tosh Baker (2020 4 star), Michael Carmody (2020 4 star), Blake Fisher (2021 4 star), Greg Crippen (2021 4 star).

Much like tight end recruiting, offensive line recruiting at Notre Dame is as good as it gets. The current starting five is full of former top 100 talent and the pipeline of backups and recruits matches up well with the current roster. When Harry Hiestand left to take a job with the Chicago Bears, many fans had questions about Jeff Quinn. He has more than answered those questions on the recruiting end. Expect many more years of dominant offensive line play in South Bend.
