Notre Dame Football: Irish record vs. the Pac-12 teams
By J.P. Scott
With the exception of one program, Notre Dame football has dominated every Pac-12 team throughout history.
The coast-to-coast nature of the Notre Dame football schedule every year has made it possible for the Irish to play at least one game against every current Pac-12 team throughout the history of college football.
For the most part, Notre Dame football has dominated the Pac-12. Here’s how the Irish have fared historically against every Pac-12 team.
Southern Cal
The Battle for the Jeweled Shillelagh has taken place 90 times. The Irish have a 48-37-5 advantage in the series.
Stanford
Notre Dame and Stanford have faced off 33 times. The Irish lead the series 20-13.
Washington
The Huskies have faced the Irish eight times, with Notre Dame winning all eight games.
Colorado
Colorado and Notre Dame have played five times. Notre Dame leads the series 3-2. The two teams met in the Orange Bowl in back-to-back years in 1990 and 1991. Notre Dame won the first game 21-6. Colorado won the following year, 10-9.
California
The Fighting Irish and Golden Bears have squared off four times, with Notre Dame sweeping the series.
UCLA
The Irish and Bruins have played four times, with Notre Dame winning all four games.
Arizona State
Notre Dame holds a 3-1 series advantage over the Sun Devils.
Arizona
The Irish lead the all-time series with the Wildcats, 2-1.
Washington State
Notre Dame has played Washington State twice, winning both games.
Oregon
The Ducks and the Irish have met only twice through the years. Notre Dame won one of the games and they tied the other.
Oregon State
Somehow, the only Pac-12 team that the Notre Dame football program does not have a winning record against is the Oregon State Beavers. OSU leads the all-time series 2-0.
Utah
Notre Dame and Utah have only met once — back in 2010. The Irish won that game by a score of 28-3.
