Notre Dame Football: Jerry Tillery top-rated Irish rookie in Madden ’20
By J.P. Scott
Jerry Tilley got the highest grade of any Notre Dame football rookie in the 2020 version of Madden.
EA Sports released the ratings for the rookies for Madden 2020 today. Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Jerry Tillery had the highest overall grade of any of the Notre Dame football alums with a 74. That was the fourth-highest grade given to a rookie defensive tackle.
Other Notre Dame rookies who were selected in the 2019 NFL Draft scored as follows:
Julian Love, Cornerback, New York Giants: 69
Miles Boykin, Wide Receiver, Baltimore Ravens: 71
Dexter Williams, Running Back, Green Bay Packers: 66
Alize Mack, Tight Ends, New Orleans Saints: 62
Drue Tranquill, Linebacker, Los Angeles Chargers: 69
The Madden franchise only released the numbers for the rookies who were selected in the 2019 NFL Draft. They did not include undrafted free agents who are currently in camps with NFL teams, which is why you don’t see Te’von Coney, Alex Bars, Tyler Newsome or Justin Yoon listed. You’ll presumably have to wait for those guys to earn roster spots in order for them to appear in the game. As of right now, all four have pretty decent shots of finding themselves on NFL rosters at some point during the 2019 NFL season. In fact, I’d be stunned if any of them did not.
Also of note:
Miles Boykin was the sixth-highest rated receiver.
Julian Love was tied as the seventh-highest rated corner.
Dexter Williams was tied as the 13th-highest rated running back.
Alize Mack was tied at the 17th-highest rated tight end.
Drue Tranquill was tied as the third-highest middle linebacker.
