Notre Dame Football Schedule, 2019: The Pursuit of Trappyness

Bear Trap Games
September 28th vs Virginia
Notre Dame returns from their trip to Athens to face a scrappy Virginia team the following week.
The Irish will probably be a bit banged up after a physical game against Georgia. It could be easy for them to let their guard down when they return home to play an afternoon game against a mid-tier ACC opponent like Virginia.
The Cavaliers proved how dangerous they can be when Notre Dame traveled to Charlottesville in 2015. The Irish needed a last minute touchdown pass from DeShone Kizer to avoid the upset that season.
Another thing that may worry Irish fans about his game is Virginia’s quarterback, Bryce Perkins. Perkins will be one of the best quarterbacks Notre Dame faces in 2019. He is a dynamic playmaker that can cause a lot of problems for opposing defenses.
November 2nd vs Virginia Tech
Despite a couple of down seasons, Virginia Tech could be a dangerous team in 2019. Some analysts even believe the Hokies could finish the year in the top 25.
Similar to the Virginia game, this game comes the week following a highly-anticipated road game. Similar to the Georgia game, the game against Michigan will also be a physical contest that could take a toll on the Irish.
Virginia Tech’s last trip to South Bend was in 2016, when they beat Notre Dame by a score of 34-31. To be fair, that whole season was a mulligan and was erased from my personal record book.
To put cherry on top of this trap-game sundae, the Hokies have a bye the week prior to this game.
November 23rd vs Boston College
Boston College has a bit of a history upsetting highly-ranked Notre Dame teams late in the season. Head coach Steve Addazio and his squad would love nothing more than to add another chapter to that history when they make the trip to South Bend this November.
This will be senior day for the Irish and the penultimate game of the season. The following week, Notre Dame will head out to Palo Alto to play Stanford. If the Irish are ranked near the top four, they could be at risk of overlooking the Eagles.
Like Virginia Tech, Boston College also has a bye the week before their matchup with Notre Dame. So they will be well-rested when they make their trip to South Bend.
