Another well-respected mock draft site has a handful of Notre Dame football players being drafted in 2020.

Mock drafts are a lot of fun. They are rarely very accurate, but they offer a gauge on what people are thinking nationally in terms of the talent of current college players and the needs of NFL teams. One site that specializes in mock drafts — Drafttek.com — has a handful of Notre Dame football players being selected in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Drafttek has the Arizona Cardinals drafting offensive tackle Liam Eichenberg with the 33rd overall pick — first pick of Round 2. After that, they have the Baltimore Ravens selecting guard Tommy Kraemer with the 48th overall pick.

They have the Falcons picking at No. 49 and selecting defensive end Khalid Kareem, followed by the Eagles drafting Julian Okwara No. 56 overall.

Beyond the second round, Drafttek has Matt Patricia’s Detroit Lions landing safety Alohi Gilman in the fourth round with pick No. 101.

In Round 5, they have wide receiver Chase Claypool headed to the Arizona Cardinals with pick No. 130.

The last Notre Dame football player Drafttek has being drafted in their 2020 mock is defensive lineman Daelin Hayes. They have the New York Jets taking him with the 202nd pick in Round 7.

We’ve now seen a number of NFL Mock Drafts that have Eichenberg, Kraemer, Khalid and Okwara as either first or second-rounders. Having four players in the trenches projected as Day 1 or 2 NFL selections bodes well for Notre Dame’s hopes in the 2019 season.

Next. Chase Claypool needs to be elite in 2019. dark

Having seven guys drafted would top the total number of Notre Dame football players draft in 2019, when the Irish hand six members hear their names call on draft weekend. As I stated earlier in the week, it’s looking like a double-digit draft class for the Fighting Irish in 2020 is not out of the question — depending on who declares early.
