Back-Up Quarterback

Coming in as a freshman, many had all the faith in the world in Phil Jurkovec. In fact, some believed he would be named the starter at some point last season. This was before the season, as things took a much better turn than most expected. After the Spring game, much confidence was lost in Jurkovec, with the biggest factor being the loss of his own confidence. After his Spring game performance, there were whispers of whether he was ready for the task and if freshman Brendon Clark should take over the role.

During his presser, Kelley mentioned Jurkovec and said that he was optimistic about Phil. He expects Jurkovec to gain his confidence back and to be the No. 2 behind Book. So with that being said, it looks like they either expect Phil to back up Book right now or are set on him backing up Book.
