The Shillelagh Trophy (Purdue)

The Shillelagh Trophy, first presented in 1957, is a Shillelagh (club) donated by Joe McLaughlin, a merchant seaman and a Fighting Irish supporter who brought it over with him from Ireland on a trip.

The Shillelagh is one of the more unique trophies that is exchanged between any schools Notre Dame plays. Normally there is an actual trophy or some sort of plaque given back and forth, but to exchange a shillelagh is most definitely one of the more interesting college football traditions around.
