The Notre Dame football team will face some talented players in the 2019 season. Here are the top ten defensive players on their schedule.

The Notre Dame football offensive attack figures to be a strength of the team in 2019. The Irish return eight starters on offense and a handful of other players that were contributors last season.

Ian Book returns to lead an offense that ranked 32nd in total yards per game and 37th in pass yards per game in 2018. In his arsenal, he will have six of the team’s top eight leaders in receiving yards back from last season.

It will also be Book’s third season with offensive coordinator Chip Long. That might not sound like a big deal, but that continuity is hard to find at major college football programs. I believe that the 2019 Notre Dame offense will be Long’s most productive group since he arrived in South Bend.

There are high expectations Irish offense heading into the 2019 season. However, there are some talented defenses on their schedule.

Football is the ultimate team sport, but individual players will always make their presence known. I combed through the rosters of all of Notre Dame’s 2019 opponents to find the top defensive players the Irish will face.

These are the players that Brian Kelly and Chip Long will have to specifically game-plan for in their weekly preparation.
